Product Recall: Greenyard Frozen Foods
We are aware of the outstanding issue with Greenyard in relation to the Listeria Monocytogenes outbreak which has been highlighted for several years now. We have recently been in direct contact with the FSA and local authorities regarding this matter. Initially, the advice given was not to recall any stock, but because of recent developments we thought it would be prudent to conduct both forward/reverse traces which has highlighted our customer base that has been in receipt of this product.
At present, our cold stores are showing stock of the offending lines in relation to the “best before, batch codes and product lines” that have kindly been supplied to us by Greenyard, and therefore isolation procedures have been initiated and a full product recall activated by Hopwells.
Products with the best before dates and batch codes supplied will be recalled/withdrawn from all of our customer base. Further traceability and stock checking will be completed periodically; and well as a sustained and increased focus on product release.
Hopwells therefore have withdrawn all products from the list below and will not be suppling any customers until Greenyard have conducted a full investigation and fresh products are available for distribution.
Due to the scale of the product recall and the number of products involved, on this occasion, could we ask you to contact the units in order for them to telephone their servicing depot to arrange collection/credit in the meantime Hopwells are striving to contact all customers by e-mail or phone.
At Hopwells Frozen Foods limited we are dedicated to supplying branded products to our end users that are safe and legal and will adhere to current legislation and best practice at all times.
I hope the above meets with your approval and assures you that we operate to a robust FSMA at all times.
